Recommended Broker Change

As we have moved forward with the test and design of a new computerized auto trader, it has become apparent that it would be most effective to program and run the system in Metatrader. I have spent the last 5 days researching in depth the dozens of Metatrader brokers in the industry. I am weighing various factors in deciding which broker to switch to.

Strength of the company. Because Forex is largely unregulated, the risk of losing some or all of our capital because of a broker going under is a real threat. And while it does not happen often, we still want to choose a company with strong financial backing, a good history under it's belt, and located in a country that can help us in the event something were to go wrong.

Liquidity. The number and strength of the liquidity sources a broker uses will determine the amount of buying power we as a trader will have at any given price. In order to be sure that we will not experience excessive slippage, we will look for a broker with several large liquidity sources.

Must have access to the Metatrader software. Metatrader is a commonly used trading/charting software in the Forex world. It is simple and reliable. Up until this point, we have used Metatrader for charting but placed our system trading orders through the MB/Dukascopy platform. The move to Metatrader for order entry will make the transition to an automatic trader smoother, faster, and most reliable.

Narrow Spreads. We have been spoiled by the tightest spreads in the industry offered by both MB Trading and Dukascopy. We are unlikely to find as good of spreads with a Metatrader broker as we have had. However, the tighter the spreads, the more money the system is able to make.

Must have access to the 16 pairs we will be trading. Obviously, the broker must have the ability to trade the 16 pairs we will be trading on the upgraded Intraday.

I have identified the following companies as potential broker choices.

1 - Tradeview Forex
2 - FXCM (Metatrader through API)
3 - Interbank FX
4 - Aleccoh FX
5 - Oanda (Metatrader through API)
