Trade Day Wrapup - March 20th, 2008
We saw things beginning to calm down after the markets started the week off in a "jittery" state. Our GBP/USD strategy took a short position about 10 minutes prior to the open of London. Our two Carry Trade intraday pairs (GPY/JPY and USD/JPY) took long positions shortly after London opened. The GBP/USD took 1.75% profit about 5 minutes prior to the UK retail sales announcement. We exited the GBP/JPY trade 2 minutes prior to the announcement as a precautionary measure. The trade was up about 0.2% when it was closed out. The USD/JPY took profit about an hour later locking in 0.85% on the first half with the second half of the position closing out about an hour later with an additional 0.7%. All in all, the system closed out the day up about 3.5%
